The objective of the Minor Softball program is to continue improving on basic skills such as catching, throwing, batting, bunting, fielding, base running and for those that want to, pitching. Minor League Softball is a big transition from Mini Minors for most young players. At this level they should be learning basic game strategies, both offensive and defensive (such as when to or not to bunt) and learn to read and implement signals. It will be their first experience with peer to peer pitching, striking out more often, sitting on the bench while others play, and learning to play with players of different ages and skill levels. Minor League is a final transition to full-fledged Softball for most young players. Teamwork and team loyalty is also important.
Players who are 7 to 10 by Dec 31 of the previous year, may play in this division.
The Minor Softball Director for 2011 is Curt Waldner
There will be 1 Minor Softball Team in the 2011 Season.
Saanich Fire Fighters Team Manager: Tina Moseley
